Phase retrieval for undersampled broadband images
نویسنده
چکیده
Phase-retrieval algorithms have been used for wave-front sensing to determine the aberrations of an optical system from system point-spread functions (blurred images of point sources). Previously, computationally efficient algorithms were developed and applied to data from the Hubble Space Telescope [Appl. Opt. 32, 1737 (1993); Appl. Opt. 32, 1747 (1993)], but those algorithms, which employ analytic expressions for the gradient of an error metric, required narrow-band light and adequately sampled images. Generalizations of those phaseretrieval algorithms, which accommodate broadband light, allow for undersampled images, permit fitting of multiple images simultaneously, and have a flexible description of the aberrations, are described in this study. © 1999 Optical Society of America [S0740-3232(99)00207-0] OCIS codes: 100.5070, 010.7350, 220.4840, 120.5050, 100.0100, 110.4980, 110.6770.

Multidimensional phase problems
Uniqueness properties of phase problems in three or more dimensions are investigated. It is shown that an N -dimensional image is overdetermined by its continuous Fourier amplitude. A sampling of the Fourier amplitude, with a density approximately 22 – N times the Nyquist density, is derived that is sufficient to uniquely determine an N -dimensional image. Both continuous and discrete images ar...

James R. Fienup used phase retrieval algorithms to determine the aberrations in the Hubble Space Telescope. The theory of phase retrieval is described in this paper. Other applications of phase retrieval, such as undersampled broadband images, lensless coherent imaging, and optical metrology, are also discussed. Introduction: James R. Fienup established the use of phase retrieval in the early 1...

In phase retrieval, one utilizes the measured response of the optical system under test to produce a phase estimate. The optical response of the system is defined as the image of a point-source object, which could be a star or a laboratory point source. T...

We explore the limitations of phase diversity when a broadband source is present but is assumed to be monochromatic. A new implementation of phase diversity that accounts for broadband sources is also investigated. ©2007 Optical Society of America OCIS codes: 100.5070 Phase retrieval; 100.3020 Image reconstruction-restoration ; 110.6770 Telescopes
متن کاملEffect of broadband illumination on reconstruction error of phase retrieval in optical metrology
Phase retrieval is a promising method for optical system and surface metrology that makes use of intensity measurements of diffraction patterns. An iterative algorithm is used to solve the inverse problem to find the phase of the field producing the measured intensity distributions. For practical reasons, such as the reduction of coherent artifacts or to improve the signal-to-noise ratio of the...
